Information we need from you

Under the NCCP Act, before we suggest or help you apply for a loan or lease, or increase a credit limit, we must assess whether it would be unsuitable for you. To do this we must make reasonable inquiries about your requirements, objectives and financial situation, and take reasonable steps to verify your financial situation. A loan is unsuitable if you could not afford the repayments, or only with substantial hardship, or if it doesn’t meet your requirements and objectives. If we provide credit assistance, we will give you a copy of our preliminary credit assessment showing how we considered the product we suggested.

What we don’t provide

We do not provide financial or legal advice, and we make no representations about the current or future value of any property you finance. If you have doubts about your obligations under a loan, you should get independent financial and legal advice.

Fees

We may charge a fee for our services. If a fee applies, it will be set out in a Credit Quote provided to you before applying for finance. Lenders may also charge fees, such as application and valuation fees; these are detailed in the Credit Proposal Disclosure Document we give you before applying.

How we are paid

We may receive commissions from lenders for loans we arrange. These are not fees payable by you. Details are provided in your Credit Proposal Disclosure Document. We may also receive volume bonuses from lenders, which cannot be quantified in advance. If we pay a referral fee to someone who referred you to us, such as a real estate agent or accountant, it is not payable by you and will be disclosed in your Credit Proposal Disclosure Document.
